At the January Session meeting the Session adopted a policy regarding member contact information. Intending to make the Membership Directory accessible to PCM members, while at the same time intending to protect PCM members from unwanted marketing, the Session adopted a policy which states that the membership directory is not to be distributed to outside organizations, and that PCM does not allow outside organizations to use PCM's membership directory for marketing purposes.
The specific text of the policy is:
Neither the directory of PCM members, nor any similar listing of PCM members will be made available to anyone other than members of the congregation (both enrolled and constituent members), PCM staff, and users with authenticated user IDs accessing PCM’s web site. Individuals and organizations outside of PCM will not be allowed to use PCM’s membership list to develop contact lists, mailing lists, or other similar communications, except those part of a PCM
