Session Notes - April 2014

Ruling Elder Marilyn Puett was appointed Recording Clerk for the Presbytery of Missouri River Valley.  The Recording Clerk attends Stated Presbytery meetings, and assists the Stated Clerk (our own Rev. Robert Keefer) with the recording of the meeting minutes. Congratulations, Marilyn!

The Session joyfully restored Bill Norton to the Active Role.

The Session always seeks to be responsible stewards of the financial resources of PCM.  Recently the Stewardship and Finance Committee reviewed the accumulating funds maintained by PCM and recommended consolidating several funds that were similar, in an
effort to streamline the management of PCM's funds.  The Session adopted those recommendations.  Two Year-2031 funds were each retained, four funds related to building and property were consolidated into the Special Contribution - Building and Grounds fund.  Still
under review is the recommendation to consolidate several mission funds. The mission fund recommendations were referred to the Mission Committee for review and further recommendation.

The Deacons plan to begin a Soup for Nutrition ministry, and the Session approved the Deacons' plan to allow for free-will donations to help support the costs of that ministry.

Andy Cook, Clerk of Session
