WORK DAY . . .
Buildings and Grounds has scheduled a fall work day for October 11,
8:00AM - noon. Lunch is provided.
ATTENTION, ALL SEASONAL SINGERS!
Once again, the Chancel Choir is working on a “musical project,” and this time, it would be Requiem by Gabriel Faure’. It is a beautiful extended work that will be presented during the 10:30 service on November 2nd with chamber orchestra accompaniment. You are invited to come to our regular rehearsal time, (Thursdays at 7:30) starting September 4th. We would only keep you for 30 minutes for a few weeks, and then extend it a little as we get closer. If you’ve ever thought it might be fun or interesting to try the choir, come join us on Thursdays for a while and see.
And as always, socks are optional. ~Vickie ~
YAG (Young Adult Group) will be meet in the “Fishbowl” Sept. 7 @ 4 pm
Red Cross Blood Drive
PCM’s semi-annual hosting of a Red Cross Blood Drive occurred on August 10 this time. There were 37 units of red blood cells collected (that included some double-red donations, where one person gives two units of red blood cells, but not double the plasma or platelets, most of which are returned to the donor through an apheresis machine). According to the Red Cross, that means that up to 111 lives could be saved from the blood components.
Thank you, PCM, for your blood!
Also worth mentioning are the volunteers without whose help the blood drive would not be possible. Thanks to Guy Shelton, Loren and Lynne Ilg, Mary McClean, Amanda and Doug Wise, Rita Wright, Dave Hollman, Suzie Hollman and anyone else who I’ve forgotten (and I apologize: with a sick little dog, it was a very long day). -Mike Osborn
