Prayers For Dorothy Norton
What is your prayer request?: It is with heavy hearts that my sister Laurie and I share sad news about our mother Dorothy Norton. For 91 years she has enjoyed a rich life full of family and friends. Unfortunately Mom has been battling kidney disease and her condition has now taken a serious turn. After much thought and prayerful consideration, she has elected not to pursue dialysis treatment due to her age and the arduous demands the treatment can make on the body, especially since it would only delay the inevitable. She is at peace with this decision and as a result, the final chapter of her life must now be written.
We have begun in-home hospice care and the transition to a full-time care facility will likely happen in the very near future. The goal is to keep her comfortable thru her remaining time with us.
During the past several weeks as Mom's condition has become public and word started to spread, we have all been touched by the love and support shown by our friends, especially our church community at PCM. God has definitely blessed our mother with so many wonderful people in her life.
During the next few days, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mom while she is still with us. We know that sometimes it can be uncomfortable in these types of situations. But, if you know Dorothy, she loves talking to people and wants to hear all the latest news.
Please keep Dorothy in your prayers.
Name: Bill Norton
We are so sad the hear Dorothy is not doing well. We will pray for your family and Dorothy. Dorothy has been a cornerstone of the church and she always took time to smile, say hi and shake our hands and ask how the kids where doing. Please pray Lord that Dorothy and her family are under your watchful care at this difficult time.
Dorothy has been a staple at PCM for as long as I can remember. I haven't lived in Omaha for quite some time, but if I close my eyes, I can still see Dorothy's beautiful, contagious smile. Please extend my heartfelt, warmest wishes for her comfort. Her kindness, warmth and commitment to her community will be a lasting legacy.

I know from conversations we had that Dorothy has always had her eye fixed firmly on the goal. As she has lived a life of service and love to countless others who have transitioned from this world to the next, I pray that she will experience the full comfort, grace, love and support of the Lord and all God's people at PCM in these days May God bless and reward her courage she has shown once again in her decision, meeting life on its own terms as she always has. God bless you, Dorothy. I hope that all of heaven awaits the opportunity to welcome you into all the wonders that are ready for you, and that God will grant you safe and sure passage.
Our family is so sorry to hear of Dorothy's illness. Please let her know she is in our prayers. May hospice make you, Dorothy,as comfortable as possible. Rick and I and the kids will always keep you and your infectious smile in our hearts. You are one very special Lady. We love you
