Galloping Gourmet

Galloping Gourmet

Galloping Gourmet is PCM's answer to dull, lifeless Friday nights. For each of the second Fridays in March-May and September-November, we will take the vus at 6 p.m. from the south church entrance and travel to a different surprise restaurant. Attendees enjoy each other's company and fine dining together. Then the gourmands return to dessert at the venue of our host's choice. So, save the dates! More about the March 14th event will be detailed in the March Voice.

PCM New Year's Eve Fundraiser Results

PCM New Year's Eve Fundraiser Results

PCM's New Year's Eve  fundraiser for Table Grace Café was an overwhelming success...totally due to the 75 PCMites (present and past) who put on their bling under their winter coats and came to have a good time while helping to feed others. (And we were initially hoping for 40 people!)  Ages ranged from three (3) to 90 and everything in between - exactly what we hoped for!  It was a great mix of people who all enjoyed being together in this inaugural  effort.

PCM Blood Drive

PCM Blood Drive

Thanks so much to everyone who donated blood or food or labor to make the PCM blood drive a rousing success.  We had 35 units of whole blood donated, and 6 units of double reds, for a total of 41 units. I know for sure of two first time donors, Bill Norton and Kayla Guerrero, and I’m fairly sure there were more (we had volunteers from the softball team staffing the intake computer, so they didn’t ask all the nosy questions I would have). My apologies if I left off anyone. Special mention to Jan Blimling (cookies), Mary McClean (sandwiches and cookies), Chuck and Ruth McGavren (sandwich assembly), the Echoes Illusion softball team (general labor and several blood donations), especially Cinda Sorensen who coordinated the Illusions’ sign up roster. I especially want to mention Darrell Rulla, the Red Cross Operations Supervisor, who provided us among many other things an actual donation wait time so folks could see how long before they started into the interview process—and then made it actually happen, not a small thing. And thanks, as always, to my partner in blood, Guy Shelton.  By the way, I have enough leftover sandwiches, although strangely not cookies, to last me a week . . . Christians with International Experience are coming to us!

Christians with International Experience are coming to us!

The Session of Presbyterian Church of the Master invited the Sudanese Evangelical Friends Fellowship to come worship and hold classes here in our church building.  Beginning March 1, 2014, Pastor Lazarus John will be preaching and teaching here at PCM, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with the70 members of his congregation.  Many of them speak Dinka or Nuer languages and their children speak English, so we celebrate the stories and cultural perspectives that they bring to us.  We often hear of Christians who are persecuted in other parts of the world, and God has now sent our brothers and sisters in faith, to us.  We will be looking for ways that we may offer hospitality and welcome to this family of faith.
