You asked for it, so here it is! At the Town Hall Meeting Stewardship was asked to periodically report to the congregation the status of Giving. We are proud to report that at the end of April, Giving is at about 98.5% of projected income (about $1,645 short of projections). So, giving is mostly on target year-to-date.
It is an exciting time to be at PCM! This year we celebrate PCM’s 50th Anniversary, dream about the next 50 years, make decisions about the building and continue with all the regular happenings at church.
At the January Session meeting the Session adopted a policy regarding member contact information. Intending to make the Membership Directory accessible to PCM members, while at the same time intending to protect PCM members from unwanted marketing, the Session adopted a policy which states that the membership directory is not to be distributed to outside organizations, and that PCM does not allow outside organizations to use PCM's membership directory for marketing purposes.
It is mid-October as I write this article for the November Voice. Right now we are kicking off the annual giving campaign, planning the town hall meeting and collecting preliminary 2015 budget information.
The “Per Capita” assessment is an obligation we gratefully accept to fund our Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly. This year, PCM is assessed $35.00 for each member of our congregation. Any member who does not pay their “PCM Assessment” will have their portion paid from the PCM General Fund.
As this is written, we are one week into the 2014 Giving Campaign. Thank you to all who have turned in pledge cards and Time & Talent sheets. If you have not turned in a card or sheet, it is not too late! All of PCM’s programs, salaries, etc. are funded from pledges. This year’s theme asked us to share and be generous with all the different gifts we’ve been given. No gift is “too small.” Together we can grow and build on what we do and what makes PCM uniquely PCM. Pledges may be paid in the way that best suits your lifestyle: check or cash in offering trays on Sunday, auto pay (get an authorization form from the office), by using your bank’s bill pay service, or just mail your check to church.
