Day 5 was definitely the day we all hit a wall. You can see the difference in the energy at the beginning of the day from Monday to today. It took us quite a bit longer to get through breakfast, our chores and get out to the prayer circle to hit the work. Of course, once we got to our sites, we were ready to go! We've been working at the same site for the past three days, and we can see so much progress it's hard to stop. - Doug's group made huge progress on their house by finishing the tile in the bathroom and getting a lot of the kitchen, living room and family room tiled as well. They had an awesome day of work! Monica, their construction manager, had been told it would take three more weeks to complete the work, but after the work our group did this week, they'll be done way before then. - Abby's group completed their list of tasks just in time to take the afternoon and experience a truly incredible tour of the Upper and Lower Ninth Wards with their construction manager, David (more to come on that ...). - John spent a good chunk of his day under the house installing insulation. It was tough work, but he got the job done! - Just because I haven't mentioned them in the past blogs .... Ed, Linda, Karen, Bret, Kaley and Becky are all still alive. :) They are all working very hard in their houses and are enjoying themselves very much. We were treated to homemade gumbo by resident who has been making gumbo for the PDA since they helped her family rebuild a home not long ago. It was quite good, and Becky was very happy to get into the kitchen and watch, learn and help any way she could. More to come tomorrow. Thanks to you all for checking in. If you have any messages for the team, enter a comment into the blog and I'll pass them along. :) I've also started uploading pictures to the Gallery on the PCM web site ... take a look and you'll see some pics to go with the little blurbs. Good night, Omaha!

I can easily imagine the slow, almost robotic way in which you may be getting yourselves up, dressed, and through breakfast/chores.
But, as you say, when you get to the work site, see the progress made the day before, the potential for meaningful progress today...well, the motivation to do what must be done returns.
I can imagine arriving at the work site, suddenly re-filled with the energy and enthusiasm to role up sleeves and get to work.
I truly wish I were there helping with the work, and being in fellowship with my PCM friends, and my friends from North Carolina.
Tell everyone there that I think of you all every day, and pray for God's blessings on all of you.
Peace
Andy
P.S. Tell Larry that I really miss being there, but that I just couldn't get away from work this time around (we installed a major version of my application this past weekend, and I need to be here this week handling the post-installation fallout....you'll understand that, Brad).
P.S.S. Brad, you referred to putting up photos in the Gallery. I assume you meant to click on the "Photos" link in the "Church Life" side bar on the left side of the web page. But, when I go there, there is only one gallery of New Orleans photos, and it contains only the one picture that Laurie took of the mission group the day you left Omaha. Have you not had time to post pictures after all? Or, are they some where else that you can point me to?
